**Update** Months later these sheets STILL rock. Oh and, the hubby came clean and admitted that for fear of the wife (Tiny but mighty she is) he WAS indeed responsible for the corner strap incident. As I suspected, he yanked and yanked (kudos to the sheet straps that withheld his onslaught of manly brutality- the stitches stretching and screaming in protest until alas, they could withhold no more). Hey- after that picture, these sheets DEFINITELY earned their 5 stars back!!Original Post:I'll be honest. I am a sheet snob. Yes, there is such a thing. My other half commonly likes to poke at me for having the "audacity" to spend money on $300 pillow shams when he wouldn't spend that on an entire bed set. Shamefully so, I have done it. My answer is this, but you like the way they feel don't you???Me, my bed is my comfort zone. It is where I go to feel pampered. What better way than to surround myself with the loving embrace of a soft, soothing, dreamy bed of cloud like luxury? I paint a pretty picture don't I lol?So here's the deal. Thread count and material matter to me. I want to know they're going to hold up but I also don't want to feel like I'm trying to wrap up in burlap. I know I used the word "embrace" but really, who wants to hug a cactus??These feel so nice. They are buttery soft with almost a silky sheen feel to them. Very light and breathable which is important since he overheats in an instant. The compliment to that is that they look and feel well made. As in the stitching and design are simple yet elegant. They FEEL like quality sheets. The color is vibrant and rich. Even after several washes they have maintained without fading or pilling. That alone makes them a winner but believe me, there is more...So the other thing that causes me to throw a tantrum to top anything my daughter could've ever produced as a toddler in her terrible 2's are sheets that pull up on the corners. There is NOTHING more maddening than having your bed come apart while you are in it. I am petite. VERY petite. We have a K size bed. When sheets come up I become in danger of having to fight for my life against the assault of a fitted sheet that has chosen to instead of fit, try to snap and wrap itself around any of my appendages as I attempt to sleep. It is a battle I prefer not to engage in. It can get ugly.THESE sheets mean what they say when they claim to be deep pocket!! As in, remember when I said I like my cloud of comfort?? Yes, so that means that not only do they fit our pillow top, they fit the added 3" gel topper too! Easily! If that weren't enough, they have the corner straps underneath to ENSURE these babies aren't going anywhere until YOU decide to take them off. Oh glorious day (insert heavenly music here)!! And speaking of my cloud of comfort, I also love to surround myself with pillows. When he has to leave super early or has to be gone way late, I go about the business of creating what he refers to as my "nest" of pillows. Which means I am usually short a couple of regular cases with the normal set. Not so anymore! This is now a problem of the past since here you have the option of getting 4 pillowcases with your set.If you can't tell, I am in LOVE! Now comes the icing on the cake...the fitted sheet has a pocket on both sides of the bed that is situated perfectly to reach when you are laying down. Now I read some complaints about the size which I personally don't get. So when I ordered them I didn't care so much since it wasn't a feature I had considered before. Boy was I wrong in that! So, idk what others are expecting but I can put a universal remote, my eyeglass case, inhaler when my daughter had a respiratory infection and slept with us as well as some other small things like my cell phone all at the same time. In one pocket! It's not a tote bag after all. It's a pocket. And a useful one at that! (Now picture the bewildered look on my face) I had no idea what I was missing out on...So why not the perfect stars you may wonder with all of this raving? Well, so after the 3rd wash, the stitching on one of the corner straps came apart and it's no longer connected. BUT I half wonder if in his lack of grace, he did it by maybe trying to yank the sheets off of the bed once when I wasn't here to do it. I never noticed it coming apart. It just happened that I was putting fresh sheets on. So for me, they weren't that necessary since, as I explained, the corners themselves are sufficiently deep. If however that's your thing, that is where the consideration is.As far as MY sheet outlook- I will be buying more of these. I am convinced. Hands down and at a fraction of the cost, these are some of my favorite sheets. A definite worthy purchase all in the name of a great night's sleep. If you can't tell, when all is said and done, I recommend :)
