The material feels nice and smooth after washing accordingly to the instructions. I don’t think it’s soft, but hopefully that would change over time. After searching for days trying to find thick hotel-like sheets and reading lots of reviews, I took a risk on these and I'm so happy I did. They are really thick but they're also very soft and don't feel stiff or scratchy at all. I washed them in a front load washer on delicate cycle and cold water, and then line-dried them out of the sun so they wouldn't fade. The sheets stretched out a little where they were hanging, but I put them on the bed and misted a little water on the stretched areas and they pulled right back together again and wrinkles disappeared. I got the dark green color and it looks really pretty, almost like it has a slight metallic sheen like silk or satin sheets, but it's 100% quality cotton.I assumed that a higher thread count, like in the 1000s, would be better, but all the sheet reviews I found were sketchy and this 800 count feels incredible. If you're looking for thick, expensive feeling sheets like the ones in hotels, these are the ones to get.This sheet is well made. The cotton sheet is very dense, feel luxurious and has a good fit.
